Conduit Trestle
This Portland Water Bureau Project consisted of the removal of a 52” steel water line and trestle system. MEI Group replaced the existing system with new steel pipe and 120 feet clear span crossing in the Bull Run Water Shed. The project also included removal of Conduit 3 and replacing it under a creek crossing for protection. Conduits 2 and 4 had the existing trestle removed and replaced it with CLSM support which was buried for protection.
–In phase II the Portland Water Bureau contracted with the MEI Group to relocate 750 ft of 52” and 56” lap welded steel around an Earth dam. The pipeline crossed designated wetlands and had numerous challenges that included near zero allowance of ground vibrations near the dam. We also removed Conduits 2, 3 and 4 trestle systems replacing the pipe and encasing them with CLSM then burying them.
